They are crewmen who, at the time, heard a woman screaming for help.
They are seen smiling while possibly talking or playing cards when they hear Rose's screams for help. They run towards the terrified screams. Once they arrive to the back of Titanic, they witness Rose trembling in fear as Jack is on her.
